This is a collection of seven broadsides listing the expenses of the Town of Barnstable for the Civil War era, 1859-1865. Lists of expenses include support to the poor in town and out of the almshouse; almshouse expenses; state aid paid to the families and friends of volunteers (soldiers); snow bills; expenses on roads and bridges; school committee; burying grounds; collectors' fees and taxes remitted; town officers and committees, state and county taxes; interest account; printing, advertising, school books, and stationery; guide boards; fees paid to towns and cities for support of the poor; volunteer (soldier) expenses; aid to families and friends of volunteers (soldiers); aggregate amount of payments from the Treasury; and miscellaneous expenses.
